Microsoft has said the list comes “to help plan and manage hardware and software deployments.” Microsoft has said it has included those devices because users were demanding it. A lot of devices in this list have already hit their End of Service dates. Microsoft might pull an exception in case there is a harmful software impacting devices at large. These devices will, however, receive all software updates during that time. The End of Service means that Microsoft will stop rolling out any security updates to these devices after the published dates. The End of Service for the Surface Pro 3 is November 2021 but it was launched in June 2014. The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 has seven years of support according to the list. There is a remarkable exception in this list: Surface Pro 3. For example, the Surface Pro 2 had its End of Service ended in April 2018, which is five years after it was launched. Going by the list, most Surface devices have four years before Microsoft stops giving support for these devices.īut a few of these devices have their End of Service set for after five years. Some other devices that were launched this year, including the Surface Go 2, Surface Book 3, will also hit the End of Service date in 2024 in the same month as they were launched. It was launched on October 13 earlier this year but its End of Service date is October 13, 2024. The latest Surface Laptop Go is also the part of the list.
